The production of formic acid primarily involves three key steps:
1. Steam Preheating Stage
Methanol and air are mixed in a 1:1.25 ratio and fed into the reaction gas preparation unit.
The mixture is then heated to 200°C in a preheater to form a homogeneous reaction gas.
2. Catalytic Reaction in Gas Preparation Unit
The preheated reaction gas passes through the unit, where oxidation occurs in the presence of a catalyst.
Common catalysts: Sodium molybdate (Na₂MoO₄) or ammonium molybdate ((NH₄)₂MoO₄), Acideformique Formic Acid .which:
Accelerate reaction kinetics
